MULTI STREAM CRYOGENIC HEAT EXCHANGER

Multi Stream cryogenic Heat Exchangers are used to transfer heat from from hot fluid to cold fluid in counterflow configuration. Mostly it is used in air separation plant. An air separation unit separates atmospheric air into its primary components, typically Nitrogen, oxygen and some times argon and other rare gases at very low temperatures (below −150 °C, −238 °F or 123 K).

Apollo brazed aluminium plate-fin heat exchanger consists of a block of alternating layers of corrugated fins.The layers are separated from each other by special aluminium parting sheets and sealed along the edges by means of side bars, and are provided with inlet and outlet ports for the streams. The stacked assembly is brazed in a fluxless controlled atmosphere vacuum furnace to become a rigid core.To complete the heat exchanger, headers with nozzles are welded to it.

Our compact design & vacuum brazed rigid structure of core ensures long life performance to cryogenic cold box. Special Aluminium material for such critical application make sure better heat transfer rate and capability to withstand the temperature below -269℃.

An air seperation unit seperates atmospheric air into its primary components, typically Nitrogen, oxygen and some times argon and other rare gases. Cryogenics is the study of the production and behavior of materials at very low temperatures (below −150 °C, −238 °F or 123 K).

Liquefaction of gases is always accomplished by refrigerating the gas to some temperature
below its critical temperature so that liquid can be formed at some suitable pressure below the critical pressure. the gas is first compressed to an elevated pressure in an ambient temperature compressor. This high pressure gas is passed through a countercurrent recuperative heat exchanger to a throttling valve or expansion engine. Upon expanding to the lower pressure, cooling may take place, and some liquid may be formed. The cool, low pressure gas returns to the compressor inlet to repeat the cycle.

2. in steel making oxygen is required for basic oxygen steel making
3. large amount of nitrogen with low oxygen impurities are used for inerting storage tanks
of ships and tanks for the petroliuem products
4. and to prtect edible oil products from oxidation
