TRANSMISSION OIL COOLER

2 Stream Heat Exchangers are used to transfer heat from from hot fluid to cold fluid in counterflow configuration. Mostly it is used for Helium to Helium or Helium to Nitrogen Heat Transfer in cold box for cryogenic applications.

Apollo brazed aluminium plate-fin heat exchanger consists of a block of alternating layers of corrugated fins. The layers are separated from each other by special aluminium parting sheets and sealed along the edges by means of side bars, and are provided with inlet and outlet ports for the streams. The stacked assembly is brazed in a fluxless vacuum furnace to become a rigid core.To complete the heat exchanger, headers with nozzles are welded to it.

Our compact design & vacuum brazed rigid structure of core ensures long life performance to cryogenic cold box. Special Aluminium material for such critical application make sure better heat transfer rate and capability to withstand the temperature below -269℃.

APPLICATIONS OF 2 Stream cryogenic heat exchanger

Cold box

Cryogenic Cold Box is part of cryogenic liquification or refrigeration plant. Cold Box is a insulated carbon steel enclosure with flange terminations. It’s best described as a process module incorporating all the following Supports and houses, heat exchangers, piping, other related cryogenic equipment that hold a gas or liquid at a very low temperature. The heart of the cold box are the aluminum plate fin heat exchanger manufactured by vacuum brazing. Apollo has successfully indigenized these heat exchangers in India.

Air Separation plant

An air separation plant separates atmospheric air into its primary components, typically nitrogen and oxygen, and sometimes also argon and other rare inert gases.Liquefaction of gases is always accomplished by refrigerating the gas to some temperature below its critical temperature (below −150 °C, −238 °F or 123 K). Aluminum plate fin heat exchangers are used in these air separation plants for cooling the gases.

Discuss your project with us!

At Apollo we understand that while the basic concept of cooling is fairly straightforward, there are areas of theory and execution where even the most veteran engineer could use their best of knowledge to create the cooling system for their application.
