Electric Multiple Unit
An electric multiple unit or EMU is a multiple-unit train consisting of self-propelled carriages, using electricity as the motive power. An EMU requires no separate locomotive, as electric traction motors are incorporated within one or a number of the carriages. EMUs are popular on commuter and suburban rail networks around the world due to their fast acceleration and pollution-free operation.
Weather in regional or city trains, electric multiple unit differ depending on application, route and capacity & requirement.
The Traction transformer in EMU provides the traction power to the carriages. Maximizing the working of the EMU trains can be done by effective traction transformer design. Thus, Transformer design must have minimum heat rejection losses. Apollo is RDSO approved for Traction Transformer Oil Cooler with special IP67 Motor. Apollo can design, Manufacture & test customized transformer oil cooler based on customer requirement.
Air brake compressors in EMUs ensure pneumatic requirement are provided for. Effective Cooling of the compressed air ensures the brake compressors work continously as per use.
Apollo has designed Aluminum Air cooled intercooler and after cooler for brake compressors.

At Apollo we understand that while the basic concept of cooling is fairly straightforward, there are areas of theory and execution where even the most veteran engineer could use their best of knowledge to create the cooling system for their application. Technical, Design and Engineering Support is your open line of communication to our engineering team.
